View Full Version : XANSONS for COD

XANSONS for COD is a research project aimed to create an open access database of simulated x-ray and neutron powder diffraction patterns for nanocrystalline phase of the materials presented in the Crystallography Open Database (COD) (http://www.crystallography.net/cod/index.php). You can participate by downloading and running a free program on your computer.

Looks like it has completed. http://xansons4cod.com/xansons4cod/forum_thread.php?id=91#564 Will keep an eye out for further information for later uses.

Here is a posting from XANSONS for COD

A bunch of new COD structures (for October and November 2017) was added to the project. From now on the updates will be more regular (about twice a month).

Also, now the structure is considered processed by the user if the user calculated at least one diffraction pattern (x-ray or the neutron one, does not matter) for this structure. So, the numbers of processed COD entries are increased for all users. Now, it is also possible to view the complete list of the COD structures processed by the user (see 'view all' link near the number of processed COD entries). Note that displaying this list may take some time for the top participants who have 100,000+ structures processed.

Thanks for the heads up Bill. Looks like the admin cannot decide when his project is complete.

Unfortunately, the project does not currently qualify for DC-Vault.

Principal calculations for this project are completed. Account creation is disabled. The database of simulated powder diffraction patterns can be found at http://database.xansons4cod.com (web interface is in development). The project will continue to process newly added COD entries but the number of new tasks per month will be very small.

Why can our Team Members No Longer Join this Project?
Thank you

I see this on the Main Page But Why? Account creation is disabled.

Maybe add an Invite Code to allow new Members?

Thank you, it's a good idea.
Invite code is added. Registered users now can find it on their profile pages.
You can tell this code to anyone who wants to join the project but, please, notify him first that the number of WUs per month will be very small. Otherwise, new users may be disappointed.

It qualifies once again. However, due tot he lack of work I would say it is not a good fit for DC-Vault at this time.
