Welcome cswchan! && Breaking 200

Please welcome cswchan to our Collatz team ( at least who haven't already in the Morwena thread). Charles is no stranger to this project, having already crunched a workunit or two elsewhere (a mere 100 million ) so whatever aid he can give us is sorely appreciated!

And he comes at a most auspicious time as the team has just crested into the Top 200 teams, a significant milestone!

So as Meady would recommend, it time to :gulp: and :cheers: and :chug: and otherwise get :drunken: in celebration!

Well trust me to be a blithering idiot. I would claim drunken reverie as an excuse (the drunken reverie is quite true) but it is no excuse Charles. I have corrected my grievous error as best I could and can only say mea culpa and beg your forgiveness ... and offer you a fine single malt or cabernet (or other hospitality) should you ever find yourself in the greater Denver area.

And to paraphrase a favorite comic ... that's another fine mess I gotten myself into ...

It's a bit of X-Files trivia (much more in tune at the time I started DC a decade ago). It occurs frequently in X-Files episodes as either 10:13 or as the date October 13 or a number containing 1013. Among other things it is the birthday of Chris Carter, creator of the X-Files, as well as the birthday of Fox Mulder.

I suppose I should add that the other common number in x-files episodes is 1121 ... the birthdate of Chris Carter's wife. I have heard claims that one number or the other is in every X-Files episode ... though this is not supported either by any internet source nor my own experience. I've only found one or both of the numbers in slightly more than half of the episodes ...

Another possibility is that it's 47 minutes to "elevenses" which is a wonderful time of day :gulp:

I would say that you are a gentleman and a scholar ,,, 'cept around here that's usually considered a deadly insult :blast: so I will forbear. But at least from this Ninja it deserves a big :thumbsup:.

If I have one complaint concerning the collatz team pages it is that once you return to Crunchers Inc your contribution here will not be noted save by those of use who remember (just as currently you are not showing up on the Crunchers Inc page). I fear this may be common on many BOINC pages (It's the only way I can explain how the members totals on the Spinhenge team page for Ninja do not add up to the team total). It just seems ... not right :scratch:.

Ah well ... time for another :gulp:
